
A traffic stop in Brandenburg resulted in the arrest of two people.
According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, detectives made the traffic stop on November 21, 2016 when a vehicle known to deliver drugs was observed racing along the Bypass. Officers made the stop driver 22 year-old Alek Nelson of Irvington and his passenger 31 year-old William Dunn of Brandenburg. Nelson gave police consent to search the vehicle and then requested that the search end when officers found a digital scale with residue in the vehicle.
Nelson was taken into custody and a search was issued for the vehicle. Upon the execution of the warrant and police dog assisted with the search of the vehicle which led to the discovery of ten grams of methamphetamine, bag sale ready bags of marijuana, a glass pipe and another set of scales from inside the seat.
Nelson and Dunn were both charged with trafficking a controlled substance over two grams, methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men are lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
