Fire crews responded to a structure fire around 8 am CDT Friday (2/3) morning on White Oak Lane off of Highway 690 near SeRee.
When Harned, Hardinsburg and McQuady Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a residence fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews worked to keep the flames from spreading to a nearby garage, vehicles, and wood line.
Fire officials said that the resident identified as Sammy Swartz, noticed an electrical smell but was not able to find the source before he left to work. The house and all of its contents were a total loss. The American Red Cross was called to assist the family. Fire crews were on the scene couple of hours. No injuries were reported.
