Two Hardin County ambulances crashed together on the Joe Prather Highway near the intersection of Kentucky 251 while responding to a water rescue around 9 pm Friday (2/23) night.
Kentucky State Police say both four ambulance crew members were taken to the hospital. According to Bryce Shumate, Hardin County Emergency Management Director, both ambulances were en-route to the Colesburg area to assist with a water rescue. One of the ambulances was diverted to a call in Radcliff when the lead ambulance turned around and was “sideswiped” by the other vehicle.
Two crew members were taken to University of Louisville Hospital and two other crew members were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital. The extent of injuries were not immediately available. The Radcliff Fire Department also assisted Kentucky State Police at the scene.
