Several Meade County RECC customers lost power early Monday (4/2) morning after a substation fire knocked out power in downtown Hardinsburg and western and southern portions of Breckinridge County.
Crews from Meade County RECC and the Hardinsburg Fire Department responded the scene near the jail just west of Hardinsburg around 3:15 am CDT when a regulator failed causing the electrical circuits to short out and cause the fire. RECC was able to back feed the affected circuits to get affected customers back online around 4:30 am Monday morning.
