A Jeffersonville, Indiana, man has been identified as the victim of last Friday’s death while working on a billboard on Dixie Highway near Elizabethtown.
Jarad Weinberg, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office. Weinberg worked for Out Front Media in Louisville. According to Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman John Thomas, the “investigation has revealed that although Weinberg had on a safety harness, he was not tethered to the sign at the time of the accident.” There was another worker present when Weinberg fell. The men were servicing a billboard along the southbound lanes of Dixie just north of W.A. Jenkins Road.
The investigation is ongoing.
