Elizabethtown firefighters responded Wednesday (5/2) to a report of a structure fire with a handicapped person inside the home’s finished basement.
When the initial crew entered, they quickly found her, Elizabethtown Fire Department Deputy Chief Everett Roberts said the 65 year-old woman was found dead. He said family members attempted to enter the home, but were unsuccessful.
Firefighters contained and extinguished the blaze quickly. The house sustained significant damage throughout. An investigation is being conducted by fire investigators and the Elizabethtown Police Department.
