
The Brandenburg City Council voted down a rezoning request during their regular meeting on Monday (7/10) evening.
The council considered a rezoning request of R1 to R3 of the Bruce Constantine property along Hillcrest Drive. Several adjoining residents was in attendance at the meeting to voice strong opposition against the request. After some discussion and review of the Planning & Zoning findings which resulted in the council members to deny the request. Council members did approve a request from C2 & Ag to C2 on a property just north of Old State on the Bypass owned by Redhead LLC and B&M Development.
In other business, the council approved the first reading of an ordinance to adopt or amend city streets in a effort to set a standard for city names. They also discussed an approved proceeding with the closing of Price Street. The council approved the reading of an resolution for to accept the funds of a KIA Water Tower Grant.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Bryan Claycomb recognized Rhonda Allen as this recipient of the Yard of The Month.
