A soldier with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Fort Campbell died as a result of a training incident Thursday (6/5).
The soldier has been identified as 24-year-old Sergeant Aaron Cox who grew up in Mabank, Texas. According to a press release, “Cox died as the result of wounds from a vehicle accident during preparations for the upcoming Exercise Saber Guardian 25 in Hungary.”
Cox joined the Army in 2021, where he later arrived at Fort Campbell in 2022 after completing training in Fort Benning, Georgia. This was his second deployment after previously deploying to Poland in 2022.
The accident is under investigation.
