
A 13-year-old Louisville boy was identified as the person recovered from the Ohio River near the Greenwood Boat Ramp Wednesday morning.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the teen is Derrick Saunders Jr. The corner listed the cause of his death as “consistent with drowning” and ruled it an accident.
Saunders’ body was pulled from the water Wednesday morning, after almost two days of searching. He was reported missing around 8:30 p.m. Monday after he jumped into the water from the ramp and did not resurface, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Louisville Metro Police officers were called in to help Pleasure Ridge Park Fire after a report of a person in the Ohio River near the Greenwood Boat Ramp.
