
A man has been jailed on a several of charges following a house fire in Logan County.
Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Russellville Rural Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 199 Hancock Lake Road, according to a release.
The sheriff’s office said through investigation, they found that 58 year-old Rodney Belcher of Russellville used a torch to intentionally ignite fires in multiple locations within the home. Two individuals were inside the home at the time of the incident.
Deputies said they later located Belcher at his home and arrested him without further incident. He was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on the following charges:
First-degree arson
Attempted murder, two counts
Criminal mischief
Wanton endangerment
Drug-related offenses
Jail records indicate Belcher is being held on a $250,000 cash bond.
He is set to appear in court on Monday, June 30 at 1 p.m.
