Authorities have determined the cause of a devastating fire at an Oldham County car dealership on June 22.
The fire at Glenn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Highway 146 in Crestwood caused extensive damage to the business.
On Thursday, the Oldham County Fire Marshall’s office said it had completed its investigation into the fire’s cause.
Using video footage from inside the building, investigators determined the fire started on a workbench in the service area and was not intentionally set.
No one was inside the service center when the fire began, and there hadn’t been anyone there for at least 15 hours prior.
Several fire departments assisted in putting out the large fire, with one firefighter being treated for a heat-related condition.
Any further investigation will be conducted by the business’ insurance investigator, officials added.
In a social media post, the dealership called the fire a “setback,” but promised to be back in service soon.
