A Louisville man has been arrested after body-slamming a Walmart employee, according to police.
The incident happened Wednesday around 7 a.m. at the Walmart located in the 5300 block of Dixie Highway.
According to an arrest citation, a store employee saw 18-year-old Taydrian Gray attempting to steal around $10 worth of candy. Gray had opened a package of Kit-Kat’s, which made the product unsellable.
The employee approached Gray, telling him he couldn’t destroy the product and that he would have to pay for it.
The citation said Gray became upset and started to verbally assault the store employee.
As he was leaving the store, police said he turned around and punched the employee twice in the face, before picking her up and slamming her into the ground.
Several other store employees and bystanders held Gray until Louisville Metro Police arrived.
The victim said she had pain in her left eye from the punch and her left wrist after being slammed on the ground.
Gray was charged with first-degree robbery.
