Louisville police are investigating after they found a man dead inside a wrecked car on I-71 on July 6.
Police said around 2:10 a.m., officers were called to I-71 South near Lime Kiln Lane on the report of a crash. There, they found a man who had been shot inside a wrecked car. He died at the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner identified the man as 50-year-old Craig Wills.
I-71 remained closed until around 4:50 a.m.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating. Currently, there are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD or use theonline crime tip portal.
