
A 51-year-old man was convicted on arson and wanton endangerment charges in Louisville last week.
Joseph Young was found guilty on one count of arson and three counts of wanton endangerment. According to a news release, Young intentionally started a fire in an occupied dwelling with the intent to damage or destroy the building.
Three people were in the building at the time. The incident was captured on surveillance video.
According to a news release, the jury’s recommendation and established sentencing law includes 22 years for arson, 10 years of wanton endangerment for 30 years, which would run consecutively for a total of 52 years.
A sentencing date is scheduled for July 8.
