A former police chief is facing charges following a domestic violence incident.
Rick McCubbin is the former police chief of both the Bardstown and Shepherdsville Police departments.
He is now charged with 4th-degree assault and domestic violence, as well as harassment.
According to his citation, an argument last month with his 19-year-old stepdaughter turned physical, and she was grabbed by the arms and pinned against a wall. The complaint says that when his wife tried to intervene, she was then grabbed and thrown onto a bed.
McCubbin then left the home, and his wife called the police. Louisville Metro Police officers responded and noted visible bruises on the teen’s arm.
McCubbin was charged, and a judge issued a no-contact order. He is expected to be back in court on Thursday.
