A Glasgow man is behind bars after a girl came forward about ongoing sexual abuse.
On June 26, the Barren County Sheriff’s Office initiated the investigation after a juvenile under the age of 12 told them someone she knew was having sex with her.
According to the citation, an interview was then scheduled at the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center in Bowling Green for the following morning.
During the June 27 interview, the girl alleged 32-year-old Kyle Ankney had been having sexual intercourse and other inappropriate interactions with her for five months.
On July 2, a deputy made contact with Ankney in Allen County. After being read his Miranda Rights, he agreed to talk to the deputy and confirmed most of the victim’s statements, but did not admit to the sexual contact.
On July 9, the deputy made contact with him again at the Barren County Courthouse. During an interview, he admitted to having sexual intercourse with the victim at least five times, according to police.
