
A 22 year-old army cadet has died while attending Cadet Summer Training at Fort Knox.
Cadet Neil Edara from Ridgewood, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, July 24, at Fort Knox’s Land Navigation site in Kentucky.
According to the U.S. Army Cadet Command, Edara became unresponsive while conducting Land Navigation Training.
He was medically evacuated by helicopter to UofL Hospital, where he was declared dead.
The official cause of death is still under investigation.
A private memorial for Edara is planned for cadets attending Cadet Summer Training on Monday, July 28.
