Police have arrested a driver involved in a crash that left a man in critical condition over the weekend.
He was hit by two vehicles while trying to cross Shelbyville Road, but the Sherrie Martin, driver of the second vehicle, is the only one facing charges as police believe she was driving under the influence.
The crash happened just before midnight Saturday. The driver of the first vehicle stopped and stayed on the scene. As people were trying to help the man, he was hit again by Martin’s vehicle. She also stopped, but police reported smelling alcohol on her breath.
The arrest report said a passenger in her vehicle told officers the two had been drinking.
Martin was arrested and is charged with wanton endangerment and driving under the influence.
At last update, the pedestrian is still in critical condition at UofL Hospital.
