Kentucky State Police Post 16 in Henderson received a call from Ohio County Dispatch around 12:20 a.m. CT Wednesday of a two-vehicle collision on US 62, just west of Beaver Dam in Ohio County.
Preliminary investigation reveals a 17 year-old juvenile of McHenry, Kentucky was traveling eastbound on US 62 in a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. The investigation determined the driver crossed the centerline and struck a 2008 Dodge Ram truck, driven by 28 year-old Diana Sanchez of Beaver Dam, who was traveling westbound.
The juvenile driver was pronounced dead on-scene. Sanchez was transported via ambulance to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
It is unknow at this time if all participants were wearing their seatbelts; however, Kentucky State Police troopers are currently reconstructing the collision.
The investigation is on-going by the Kentucky State Police.
Kentucky State Police, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, Beaver Dam Police Department, Hartford and Beaver Dam Fire Departments, Ohio County EMS and Ohio County Coroner’s Office assisted troopers at the scene.
