
A man has been arrested after barricading himself in a home in Bardstown and firing at officers during the standoff.
According to Bardstown Police, officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired at a home in the 100 block of Evergreen Court Wednesday night. When they arrived on a scene, a man barricaded himself inside leading to a standoff.
Once in the home, police say the man began firing shots at officers. Bardstown Police called in Kentucky State Police’s Special Response Team.
The situation lasted approximately five hours, with the man continuing to fire at officers. Travis Bowman, 43, was arrested and taken to the Nelson County Detention Center where he is being held under a $500,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
He is facing charges of Attempted Murder of a First Responder and Wanton Endangerment.
