Kentucky’s first-ever medical cannabis dispensary is getting the green light from Governor Andy Beshear.
The Post Dispensary in Beaver Dam is expected to open its doors sometime this fall.
Beshear said in a post on social media it is another major step forward in making sure Kentuckians with serious medical conditions have access to the medicine they need.
The announcement comes after the governor asked President Donald Trump to allow marijuana to be reclassified as a Schedule III drug from a Schedule I drug. In a letter, Beshear wrote that patients suffering should have access to safe cannabis treatment, and rescheduling the drug would help provide more relief for Americans.
