The first man convicted for the murder of Crystal Rogers was sentenced on Wednesday (08/06) to more than a decade in prison.
In May, a jury found Steve Lawson guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence in the Bardstown mom’s 2015 disappearance.
Judge Charles Simms chose to follow the jury’s recommended sentence, giving Lawson 17 years in prison.
The judge also denied Lawson’s motion for a retrial and recommended that Lawson not be considered for conditional discharge or parole.
Rogers’ former boyfriend, Brooks Houck, and Lawson’s son, Joseph Lawson, were also convicted on all charges in the Rogers’ death.
Their sentencing is scheduled for August 21.
