Louisville police officers have arrested a man wanted for allegedly leaving his 4-month-old child in the car when he ran from a traffic stop last month.
Louisville Metro Police Department said officers found 42 year-old Christopher Morris hiding in a closet Saturday morning, five weeks after he ran from officers who stopped his vehicle, according to a post on social media.
Police said Morris took off at a high rate of speed when officers tried to pull him over for a traffic stop. He abandoned his car in Village West, then took off on foot, leaving the infant in the back of the car, according to police.
The infant wasn’t hurt, and was picked up by a grandparent after being checked out by EMS.
Morris was already wanted for multiple felony warrants, including: possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, parole violation for felony offense, flagrant non-support and harassment with physical contact.
He was lodged in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and also charged with child endangerment and several other charges.
