
Louisville police have announced the arrest of a 15-year-old in connection to a shots-fired incident near a school bus stop on Jefferson County Public School’s first day of class.
The incident happened on August 7 around 8 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Chestnut Street. No one was reported hit by gunfire, but at the time, children were at the nearby bus stop. Louisville Metro Police Department said their initial investigation did not determine the children were the target of the gunshots but said several of them did hear the shots.
Police said on August 8, they arrested a 15-year-old boy. He is facing 33 counts of wanton endangerment and one count of possession of a handgun by a minor.
Louisville Metro Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and encourages anyone with additional information to come forward by calling the anonymous crime tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
