A Leitchfield woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on August 8 around 7:13 a.m. in the 3700 block of KY 187., according to the Grayson County sheriff’s Office.
Investigators reported that 59-year-old Mary E. Haynes was driving a white 2012 Cadillac SRX northbound. The vehicle swerved and crossed into the southbound lane, and crashed into a ditch.
The Cadillac vehicle swerved, overturned, and collided head-on with a deep culvert before resting on its roof. At the time, Haynes was not wearing a seatbelt. She was later reported deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Joe Brad Hudson.
Sheriff Chaffins was assisted at the scene by the Leitchfield Volunteer Fire Department and Grayson County EMS.
