
In a release, the Frankfort Police Department says they were called to reports of shots fired at Kentucky State University at 2:35 a.m. Sunday.
Officers went to Young Hall, where they say multiple people in a car opened fire on a group of people walking on campus.
Police say witnesses heard 15-20 gunshots.
Police say two people were hit by the gunshots, with one of them sustaining serious injuries.
In a statement, Kentucky State University said that a KSU Police vehicle and the exterior of the tutoring center at Young Hall sustained damage. Only registered students with a valid student ID are permitted to access residence halls, and the University has authorized increased patrols by KSU Police and security personnel. The University will also request that all charges be pursued against any individuals who came onto campus and endangered students.
