A woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after a shooting and stabbing at an apartment complex in downtown Louisville.
Louisville Police responded to a call of a stabbing at Avenue Plaza Apartments on South 8th Street around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 19. Officers arrived and found 61-year-old Melinda Doolin shot to death inside the apartment at the location and a man outside the who had been stabbed. He was taken to UofL Hospital and is expected to live.
Louisville Metro Police Department detectives are working to determine a relationship between those two, if any exist, and what a possible motive might be. There are no suspects at this time and Louisville Metro Police Department asks anybody with any information to call the anonymous tip line or utilize the online crime tip portal.
