A man is behind bars after a string of storage unit thefts along Menards Street in Bowling Green.
Bowling Green Police say 24-year-old Denver C. Hedges was arrested early Wednesday following an investigation that began Tuesday.
Officers were called to 1945 Menards Street, where they discovered padlocks cut off 14 storage units and multiple items missing.
Surveillance footage showed a white male, later identified as Hedges, dressed in black clothing and a black mask, using bolt cutters to break in. His vehicle was also captured at the scene.
A witness told police Hedges was the person cutting locks and removing property.
When police confronted him at his home, Hedges reportedly gave conflicting statements.
He denied he was at the facility, then claimed someone borrowed his car, before finally saying he was helping a friend move items.
Investigators said a search of his vehicle turned up bolt cutters with markings consistent with the damaged locks.
Hedges is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail under a $10,000 cash bond, facing 14 counts of third-degree burglary, along with first-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglary tools. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 3.
