
A 20-year-old arrested Monday while attempting to break into a local Louisville business confessed to police that he burglarized multiple other places.
Louisville Metro Police said in a social media post that Deandre Smith-Cowherd was arrested as he was breaking into a business around 2:15 a.m.
According to police, Smith-Cowherd confessed to committing five separate burglaries and four incidents of criminal mischief all in the same area.
Some of those crimes included break-ins at the California Community Center, which was targeted multiple times over recent months.
He has been charged with four counts of criminal mischief and five counts of burglary. Smith-Cowherd is being accused of stealing computer equipment from the community center.
Smith-Cowherd appeared in court Tuesday where his bond was set at $100,000 and is next court date is scheduled for September 3.
