The Kentucky State Police Post 03 received a call just before 5 p.m. Saturday about a fatal collision near the 15 mile marker northbound on Interstate-65 in Warren County.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 1998 Cadillac el Dorado, operated by 80 year-old Garland Johnson of McDonough, Georgia, was traveling south in the northbound lane of Interstate-65. Johnson collided with a 2017 Jaguar SUV, operated by 36 year-old Mesa Reinier of Hialeah, Florida.
Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner. Reinier was air-lifted to Tristar Skyline Medical Center, where he will be treated for his injuries.
The instigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
