Louisville police are conducting a death investigation after a body was recovered from the Ohio River on Friday afternoon.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley said a tug boat operator reported seeing a body around 4:30 p.m. just north of the Belle of Louisville.
LMPD’s River Unit responded and recovered the body from the river. Police said the person was obviously deceased but the gender, race or age has not been released.
Bradley said LMPD’s Homicide Unit is now conducting a death investigation.
