
The Mayfield Police Department has made an arrest after a threat was made to a local middle school on Thursday.
Mayfield Police Department reports officers received a call about a boy making threats toward Mayfield Middle School.
Officers quickly found and detained the boy. Following interviews and securing evidence, Mayfield Police Department said the boy was charged with making a terroristic threat (second-degree), which is a class D felony.
The department said there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Mayfield Independent School systems were kept informed during the stages of the investigation, and officers will continue to work with the schools to ensure safety for students and staff.
