A Fayette County man was found guilty on Thursday of a 2005 rape that took place in Louisville.
George Wayne Aldridge was initially indicted on July 26, 2023. Previously, Aldridge had already been indicted for three sexual assaults in Lexington.
Following a trial for the 2005 incident on Thursday, September 11, a jury found Aldridge guilty of rape in the first degree and recommended a prison sentence of 15 years.
The judge in this case will make the final determination of Aldridge’s sentence in accordance with the jury’s recommendation and sentencing law.
Aldridge is not eligible for probation or shock probation and must serve 85 percent of his sentence before becoming eligible to go before a parole board.
The formal sentencing hearing will take place on Wednesday, November 5.
