The driver of a van full of children, including a newborn, is facing several charges, including driving under the influence.
Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies say they were called Friday around 3:40 p.m. to the 900 block of Reid Road near the US 60 Overpass.
Crews arrived to find the crash involved a motorcycle and an overturned van with multiple children, including a one-month-old, trapped inside.
They were all rescued and taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with severe injuries to one of his legs.
He was later flown to a Louisville hospital.
Deputies say they found several empty alcohol containers in the van.
After a trip to the hospital, 24-year-old Inocencio Cano Espinobarros of Owensboro was taken to Daviess County Detention Center where he is being held under a $50,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, September 15.
He is charged with assault, five counts of wanton endangerment, driving under the influence, and not having a driver’s license.
