An arrest has been made in connection with a homicide that took place last month in the St. Dennis neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3200 block of Teakwood Circle at around 1:21 a.m. on Sunday, September 7.
At the scene, police found 33 year-old Alesha Reed who directed officers to her bedroom, where the victim was located. Louisville Metro Police Department says the victim had been shot and was declared dead at the scene.
According to an arrest citation, investigators found items broken on the floor that appeared to have been knocked over, which seemed consistent with an altercation. The shotgun that was used to shoot the victim was lying in the corner of the room, away from the body.
The investigation determined that Reed was the only person at the scene at the time of the shooting.
A post-mortem examination of the victim suggested that the gunshot wound was not consistent with being self-inflicted.
According to court documents, Reed was arrested and charged with murder on Friday, October 10.
Reed’s arraignment is scheduled for Saturday, October 11.
