
Just before 1 p.m. Monday, November 3, Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown was contacted by the Meade County Sheriff’s Office regarding a deceased individual located at a residence on Simpson Lane in the Ekron community of Meade County.
Troopers and detectives from Post 4 responded to the scene and began an investigation.
During the preliminary investigation, detectives learned that 55 year-old Mary Crase, of Brandenburg, had sustained at least one gunshot wound.
The alleged suspect, identified as 45 year-old Scott Hornback, of Irvington, fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival and remains at large at this time.
Hornback is described as a white male, approximately 5’8″ 135lbs, with brown hair/brown eyes. The public is urged not to approach Hornback if seen, as he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The ongoing investigation is being led by Detective Travis Dalton, with assistance from other Post 4 detectives and troopers, the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, and the Meade County Coroner’s Office.
