
A teenager is in critical condition after a car suffered a mechanical issue and pinned her against a tree on the University of Louisville’s campus.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers responded to a call at around 5:20 p.m. of a single vehicle accident in the 2000 block of South Third Street on UofL’s campus on Saturday, November 1.
Initial investigations revealed that a car was driving southbound on Third Street when it experienced a mechanical issue.
Both the driver and the passenger of the car jumped out of the vehicle. The car continued to move, and the passenger somehow got pinned between it and a tree.
EMS took the passenger, a female teenager whose age is unknown, to UofL Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The driver did not suffer any major injuries.
No other vehicle was involved in the incident.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
