Donald Day Basham, age 89 of Muldraugh, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
He was born on June 9, 1936 to the late Forrest and Emma Walker Basham. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his son, Dennis Michael Basham; his sister, Patricia Curl; and two brothers, Kenneth and Robert “Bobby” Basham.

Four children: John Basham of Canton, NY, Tracey Decker and Stacey Ashbaugh, both of Brandenburg and Jason Basham of Muldraugh;
Two sisters: Ellen “Sissy” Masterson of West Point and Mary Margaret “Ninnie” Persianni of Flaherty;
One brother: Pete Basham of Hannawa Falls, NY;
Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2026, at the Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home youtube page, which can be accessed on Mr. Basham’s obituary on the funeral home website the day of the service. Burial will follow in Garnettsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from Noon until 6 p.m. on Sunday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Masonic Funeral Rites will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
