A jury has found a 21 year-old Louisville man guilty of helping to shoot his half-brother to death alongside another person.
Corionte Fant was found guilty of complicity to murder and complicity to wanton endangerment.
Prosecutors said on May 3, 2023, Fant and another person, who has been arrested but not yet put on trial, shot Jo’Cori Harris Jr. multiple times, killing him. Eye-witness testimonies, shell casings from the scene linked to Fant’s gun and video surveillance of the defendants discussing their plans in the minutes before the shooting were reportedly all shown during the trial.
The jury recommended Fant serve 25 years for complicity to murder and five years for complicity to wanton endangerment concurrently. The judge will give Fant an official sentence on March 4.
Jo’Cori Harris Sr., the victim’s father, is the other accused shooter in this case. He is expected back in court on February 5.
