
U.S. Marshals helped find an endangered missing child in Knox County Thursday night.
Louisville Metro Police contacted the U.S. Marshals about the location of a missing 13-year-old girl and a wanted individual, 37 year-old Michael Dunn. Both are from Louisville.
The child had been reported missing on January 4 and was believed to be with Dunn who is a non-custodial adult.
Dunn was wanted for multiple warrants stemming back to June 2025 for Escape – 2nd Degree, Tampering with a Prisoner Monitoring Device, Probation Violations on Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Handgun By a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Dunn was believed to be armed and trafficking narcotics.
U.S. Marshals received a tip that the pair were walking southbound on the 3100 block of US-25E in Barbourville, Kentucky.
The two were confronted and Dunn was taken into custody without incident. The 13-year-old was also taken into custody.
Two handguns, marijuana, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia were recovered at the scene.
Dunn was taken to Knox County Detention Center on his warrants. Other charges are pending.
