A jury is recommending a former Jefferson County Public Schools teacher aid and basketball coach spend more than 150 years in prison after he was convicted for sexually abusing his players.
A jury found Christopher Morris guilty of sex abuse and sodomy charges. Prosecutors said both of the victims were under the age of 16 and that Morris was their AAU basketball team coach.
The jury recommended 165 year prison sentence for Morris. A judge will issue their final sentence on March 9.
Morris had previously withdrew from a plea deal that would have led to him spending 20 years in prison.
