Linda Joyce Riggs Murphy, age 75 Brandenburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2025.
She was born on January 28, 1950, in Battletown to the late Ila Mae Bennett Riggs and Charles Lester Riggs. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Wayne Murphy; brother, Roger Riggs; sister, Audrey Carlton; and infant son, Joey Benham.
She is survived by…
Two sons: Kelly Benham and Troy Benham;
One step-son: Eric Murphy;
Four sisters: Kathy Beard, Karen Morgan, Vanessa Wright and Covanna Haley;
Two brothers: Leslie Riggs and Charles Chism;
Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Rock Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4 until 7 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
