Multiple apartments were damaged after a large fire at a Jeffersontown complex on Wednesday.
Jeffersontown Fire and EMS Captain Amber Cobb said crews responded to the fire in the 8600 block of Park Laureate Drive, near Taylorsville Road, around 2:30 p.m.
When crews arrived on scene, firefighters saw flames and smoke billowing out of the apartment complex’s roof, which had partially collapsed.
Cobb said everyone inside the apartment complex had evacuated and no injuries were reported.
She explained that crews went floor to floor, apartment to apartment, to search for any signs of life, and said multiple pets were removed by firefighters.
At least 12 apartments suffered some degree of fire and smoke damage, with Cobb saying the American Red Cross was called in to assist residents who were impacted.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
