
A Texas man was arrested leaving Caesars Southern Indiana Casino after police said he stole a pickup truck and five guns from a home in Nelson County, Kentucky.
Indiana State Police said they were contacted Wednesday night by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office after it received word of a stolen Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck that was believed to have been driven into southern Indiana from Louisville on Interstate 64 West. Indiana State Police was told by Nelson County authorities it was believed that 33 year-old Dakota Wade Dixon, of New Home, Texas, was driving the truck.
Indiana State Police troopers began a search of New Albany hotels and businesses before locating the truck in the parking garage a the casino in Harrison County. According to a news release Thursday, troopers arrested Dixon as he left the casino and found four handguns and a lever-action rifle in the stolen truck.
Dixon was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and unlawful carry of a firearm. He was wanted in Texas on a warrant for felony criminal tax evasion. He was lodged in the Harrison County Detention Center.
