Kentucky will receive $5.5 million to repair or replace 10 bridges across eight Kentucky counties and two cities.
The funding will reconnect and restore safe traffic flow on previously closed or weight-restricted routes.
This marks the latest round of funding from Team Kentucky’s County and City Bridge Improvement Program that provides $25 million each year to local governments. Since the program began in 2025, funds have been awarded to 43 counties and 11 cities.
This seventh round of awards funds eight bridge replacements and two bridge repairs. Four of the 10 bridges are currently closed, and the others are posted with weight restrictions. Each project was reviewed and validated by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet engineers to ensure the most effective solutions.
Among the latest awards to address bridge needs are projects in the following counties: Calloway, Daviess, Grant, Grayson, Johnson, Letcher, Perry, Trigg, as well as the cities of Louisville and Vine Grove.
The City of Vine Grove received over $964,000 to replace the 82-foot Otter Creek Road bridge, which is currently closed with a nearly 3-mile detour. The new structure will reopen the route to hundreds of motorists and reestablish connections for larger passenger and commercial vehicles.
Daviess County Fiscal Court received $315,000 to replace the Old Highway 54 bridge and increase its length from 26 feet to 42 feet. When the work is complete, normal traffic flow will return for those who rely on the bridge every day.
Perry County received $269,000 to repair the Fort Branch Road bridge. The project will replace the entire deck, barriers, and all superstructure components in order to preserve the bridge’s service life for all travelers.
