Louisville Metro Police have arrested 24 year-old Dashon Kilbourne in connection with a series of incidents involving property damage at two Louisville shopping centers and a scheme to profit from the damage, according to Jefferson District Court records.
Kilbourne is charged across three felony cases, including arson (first- and second-degree), third-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.
Records allege Kilbourne and at least one co-defendant broke into Dixie Manor Shopping Center on Dixie Highway and started a fire May 14, creating a substantial risk to people in an adjoining business.
In a separate incident, court records allege Kilbourne and a co-defendant entered Iroquois Manor Shopping Center on South 3rd Street, started multiple fires and threw Molotov cocktails onto the roof.
Another complaint alleges about $72,000 in damage at the two shopping centers over a months-long span that included gunfire, windows being broken, spray paint and a stolen SUV being driven into the property; records also allege the suspects later profited by being hired to perform repairs.
Kilbourne was arrested June 25. He is scheduled to be arraigned July 10 in Jefferson District Court.
