
At approximately 1:30 a.m., the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing in the 2000 block of Butler Road in Hopkinsville around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, officials found a man lying on a porch with stab wounds to the torso. Hopkinsville Fire/EMS arrived and attempted to stabilize him. After several minutes of CPR and other life-saving measures, 42 year-old John Foster, Jr. was pronounced dead.
Hopkinsville Fire/EMS also reported a woman was injured at the scene. She was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
Law enforcement found the suspect’s car on West 18th Street and attempted a traffic stop. However, the suspect fled before coming to a stop after hitting the building for The Crusty Pig on East 7th Street.
Christian County detectives arrested 41-year-old Julian Bell, of Hopkinsville. Bell is charged with murder and first-degree assault, driving on a DUI-suspended license, failure to produce an insurance card, first degree fleeing or evading police, public intoxication and reckless driving. He is being held at the Christian County Jail under a $500,000 cash bond.
