Two people are facing charges after deputies said four people were found inside a vacant home for sale in Bowling Green.
According to the uniform citation, the realtor complained to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office on July 5 about a possible burglary at the home on Jenkins Road.
The report states that deputies found a gate with a chain and four padlocks on it, when the realtor told them it was only supposed to have a chain with a realtor box on it. Deputies said the realtor gave the consent to cut the chain and fly a drone over the property.
Deputies found four people inside the home. Two adults and their daughter who had a friend over, according to the report. Investigators spoke with Brittnee and Justin Meredith. Justin told them he purchased the property in 2025 and allegedly showed the officers a forged document. He also said they had been living there for about a month.
The realtor told investigators that the property was not sold and does not have any active residents.
Deputies took Justin and Brittnee Meredith into custody.
Justin Meredith, 31, was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief and 2nd Degree Forgery. Brittnee Meredith, 36, was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary.
Both were arraigned in court Monday morning and are being held in Warren County Regional Jail under a $10,000 cash bond each. They are both scheduled to appear in court on July 10.
