
Louisville Metro Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash involving an e-bike late Sunday night.
Officers were called around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026, to the 2100 block of Outer Loop between Stinnett Lane and Grade Lane for a reported collision. Investigators say an adult man riding an e-bike on Outer Loop was struck by a vehicle that did not stop. Police do not yet know the vehicle’s make, model or color, or which direction it was traveling.
Police say the rider was thrown from the e-bike and found on the shoulder of the roadway. A second passenger vehicle then struck the e-bike in the roadway but stopped, and the driver remained at the scene.
EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene. LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call LMPD’s anonymous tip line at (502) 574-LMPD (5673) or submit tips through the department’s online Crime Tip portal. Police also ask anyone who was in the area and may have cell phone video or surveillance footage to share it through the tip line or portal.
