
An Elizabethtown man accused of driving drunk in connection to a crash that resulted in the death of his 15-year-old son is now being charged with vehicular manslaughter.
David Rhodes was arrested on DUI and assault charges on June 27 after a Ford Mustang he was driving was found overturned and partially submerged in a creek off of Bewley Hollow Road in Hardin County.
Kentucky State Police troopers and local officials entered the creek and rescued three occupants from the vehicle. One of the passengers, 15-year-old Ethan Rhodes, was flown to Norton Children’s Hospital for his injuries and died the next day.
According to court documents, a charge of vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol was added Monday, June 29.
